Welcome to my world!

I’m Isabelle, a full-time independant stained glass artist.

I moved to Montreal in 2009 to study Environmental and Event design and spent years working in events & exhibition design after graduating.

When the pandemic hit however, I decided it was time to let my second passion shine: stained glass.

It’s been quite a journey, thank you for being a part of it!

my approach

Throughout my design career, and personal life, I always made sure to nurture my love of storytelling.

It’s the one thing I focus on now as well with my glass work, hence my slogan “Stained glass with a story to tell”.

bright.

My work is vibrant, I think every piece should be a conversation starter!

I try to do my part in creating the light and beauty that I find sometimes is missing all around us ✨

details.

I like to play with opacities and textures to create depth within my pieces.

Coming from a career where I used to build 3D objects and spaces, I look at my 2D work now and always try to make it layered and dynamic.

I like to add little details that you can appreciate up-close and make sure the pieces have something to offer wether you display them backlit in a window or as art up on your wall.

intentional.

I always research my ideas and make sure I have a different perspective on the subject I’m working with than what’s already out there.

I want to make sure that I know why I’m doing something, every micro-decision being part of a bigger picture serving the story I want to tell with my project.

Collaboration.

Being self-employed and wanting creative freedom does NOT mean I want to work alone.

I’m a big believer in the power of connection, inspiration, community, mentorship, education and team work. I value honesty, transparency and vulnerability as a way to build real connections.

Why work harder when we can work smarter!

about ali

He’s our senior Orange, we adopted him in June 2021
at the SPCA Montreal when he was 10 years old.

He spent the first 7 years of his life with 15 other cats in a small apartment and when his owner left one night, abandoning most of the cats behind, a neighbour called the SPCA. Ali was in bad shape but they treated him, neutered and microchipped him. He thankfully got adopted after recovering.

3 years later, his new owner unfortunately brought him back at the SPCA. He needed urgent medical attention but the procedure was too expensive. Ali was surrendered to the SPCA again. They treated him, again, and he was back up for adoption. This time, we found him.

I’m happy to report that we are doing everything we can to provide him with the cozy retirement he deserves. This includes immediate medical attention when needed, infinite belly rubs and bits of tuna when daddy’s not looking.

He will never know abandonment again in his life.

Serge was our first senior rescue, he was 8 year old when we adopted him in 2017. He arrived at the SPCA after his lifelong owner sadly passed.

The day we adopted him, I remember thinking very clearly “remember this moment because you will look back on it one day and be able to say you knew it right away, that he was the one.”. And he was, for 3 beautiful years. We lost Serge in October 2020.

Frustrated that I couldn’t find anything to my liking to keep as a souvenir of him, I decided to create a “Memorial Drop”: a tear drop shaped piece with pressed fur inside of it. The rest is history!

Every year, the Montreal SPCA’s Investigations Division receives thousands of complaints and reports.

Did you know that on top of taking in surrendered pets and treating them for free, being a no-kill shelter, helping to report missing pets and helping with wildlife incidents, perhaps the SPCA’s most important work is done in the Investigation Division.

In 2021

  • Over 4,832 animals of a range of species received a visit from our staff and 1,898 new investigations were opened.

  • In total, the investigations team removed 84 animals from their environments.

  • Its investigations resulted in 17 convictions.
